A Special Message for National Librarian Day
Hi everyone!
Today is a very special day — National Librarian Day! And I wanted to write to all of you, from my littlest readers in Std 1 all the way up to my big Std 8 explorers, to say one simple thing:
Thank you for being the best part of my job!
Why I Love Being Your Librarian
Do you know what makes me the happiest? It's not the books (okay, maybe a little). It's you!
- When a Std 1 friend proudly reads their first whole picture book without help
- When a Std 4 student runs up and says, "I finished the series, what's next?!"
- When a Std 7 or 8 student finds the perfect book for a school project
- When anyone — big or small — falls in love with a story
That's the magic of a library. It's not just a room full of books. It's a room full of adventures waiting for you to open them.
A Little Secret About Your Library
Did you know...
-- Every book on these shelves was picked with you in mind -- I remember what you love to read, even if it was months ago -- The library is a safe, quiet place if you ever need a calm corner -- There is a "just right" book here for absolutely everyone
A Message for Every Class
Std 1–2: Keep asking me to read the covers with you and pick out your favorite pictures. That's how every great reader begins!
Std 3–5: Keep exploring new series and new authors. Don't be afraid to try something different!
Std 6–8: Keep coming back even when school gets busy. Reading for fun is still important, and I'm always here to help with projects too.
What I Hope for You
I hope the library always feels like a happy place for you. A place where you can:
- Discover a new favorite book
- Ask any question, big or small
- Sit quietly with a story
- Feel excited about learning
